Verdes del Sur currently operates two different business units: frozen foods and dehydrated foods. InnovationSince its foundation, Verdes del Sur has been based on the sole principle of innovation. Guillermo Fulco, its founder, frequently visits producers and clients looking for feedback on how to further improve its products. Moreover, he intends to fulfill our mission to supply the food industry with high quality products that simplify the cooking process in the food industry. Our missionOur mission is to produce healthy foods with an added value in order to reduce and simplify the cooking process, while providing the highest quality standards. Company HistoryThe company was founded in 2002, when Guillermo Fulco, its founder, decides to start his small company. He based the company on his belief that small and medium companies in the food industry needed suppliers that could add value to their supply chain. Consequently, he decides to seed and harvest spinach and chard in his backyard. His dream had begun. After the first harvest, Guillermo himself cleaned and boiled the vegetables and delivered these added-value products to small bakeries, delis, and hospitals to test the waters. As months went by, Guillermo received increasing orders from existing and new customers, without spending any money in advertising. He realized his vision was accurate, and therefore needed to expand its operations. After a long and in-depth investigation, Guillermo establishes his first machinery to produce frozen vegetables in an industrial fashion. Today, six years later, the company is a supplier of all mayor hospitals, bakeries, delis, and grocery stores in Uruguay. Verdes del Sur meets the most strict quality standards while keeping a flexible production schedule to satisfy our clients’ needs. In addition, the company now has a fully operative dehydrated plant to produce dehydrated fruits, vegetables, and spices with diverse production requirements.
